Where shall we go?
We will take a look at the Church of St. James the Greater, the oldest building in the town of Vroutek. It was built in the Romanesque style during the first half of the 13th century. A fortified manor once stood on the northwest side of the church.
The church was modified in the 16th century, and the masonry of the tower's uppermost level dates back to the Baroque period. You can see a statue of St. James in a niche on the church's eastern façade. You might also be struck by the red color of the church naves, created by the use of red sandstone.
Today, the church is owned by the town and used by the Orthodox Church for services. It received a new bell in 2009. It is protected as a cultural monument.
