Where to next?
A trip to Chyše Castle promises to be action-packed; you will see for yourself the wide range of options the castle offers.
The earliest historical records concerning the site date back to the second half of the 12th century, when a fortified stronghold stood where the castle is today. During your tour, you can admire interiors of great artistic and architectural value—furnished in the Baroque style—particularly the hall featuring a ceiling painting.
The oldest exhibition, dating back to the late 1990s, is titled "Karel Čapek and the West Bohemian Region" and commemorates the 1917 stay of this prominent Czech writer at the Chyše chateau. A guided tour of one circuit takes approximately 50 minutes.
The park covers an area of about 9 hectares, and its varied terrain harmoniously showcases all forms of landscape architecture.
During your visit, you certainly shouldn't miss the chateau brewery, built in the mid-19th century. In 2006, the production of high-quality chateau beer was revived after a 74-year hiatus.
