Where shall we go?
We will head to a beautiful and romantic location: a Baroque chateau Krásný Dvůr with an adjoining English-style park covering an area of 100 hectares.
The chateau was built on the site of a former Gothic stronghold in the early 18th century and was owned by František Josef Černín. Currently, a tour route comprising 18 rooms is open to the public.
A popular attraction is the chateau park. It is the oldest park of its kind in the region and, in keeping with the fashion of the time, was enhanced with a number of romantic structures. Features include the Neo-Gothic Temple, the Temple of Pan, the Gloriette, an obelisk, and the Lusthaus. Over 100 species of trees grow in the park; the most significant is the remnant of Goethe's Oak, estimated to be 1,000 years old, making it one of the oldest trees in Bohemia.
